Hypnosis for Anxiety

The way you are feeling now
Is NOT something you have to live with.

The world for someone with anxiety isn’t easy. You’ve probably tried to deal with it in many ways. I have a feeling you have had a long journey to get here, where you probably weren’t taken seriously in some cases.

I understand how you feel, what you’re going through and I take every one of those feelings seriously. And let me just say, you’ve got what it takes to escape the grip of anxiety for good. You just need a helping hand to get there.

Hypnosis For Anxiety

Hi, I’m Paul.

I’ve had the privilege of bringing comfort, control, and confidence to hundreds of clients struggling with anxiety throughout my career, using clinical hypnosis for anxiety.

While I am qualified to do traditional therapy, I often find this old process takes too long and doesn’t address the underlying issues.

Hypnosis often works when nothing else does. My unique hypnotic technique is the key to unlocking life-long changes you’ll experience from the first session.

Clinical Hypnotherapy where it suits you

Clinical Hypnotherapy is just as effective in-clinic as it is online via Zoom. When the hypnotic process begins, the changes happen in your head, not the room you are in. So hypnosis is just as effective from the comfort of your own home or in person at our clinic.

The Norwest Wellbeing Clinic is located in the Nexus Building, Suite 210, 4 Columbia Court, Norwest, 2153; close to public transport and plenty of parking is available onsite.

We tend to do more sessions face to face as our clients like to be interacting in the same room. But that’s a personal choice, not a results-based decision.

Stop feeling trapped in your own life when you should be enjoying it

If you are constantly focusing on “what if” questions, it can be exhausting and keep you stuck in the anxiety loop.

Maybe you feel like you need to avoid a certain thought or situation because of your fear or worry about it? Or, once in that situation, you might feel a feeling of panic, fatigue, or your heart racing. These are just a few of the symptoms many of my clients frequently used to have.

You may feel this way too. It’s unfair, but it’s not your fault.

But what if you didn’t have to feel that way anymore?
To do that, we have to address the root cause of the issue: The mind’s overthinking, replaying, and trying to validate every unnecessary worry.

Traditional methods are missing the mark

As a trained and experienced Clinical Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapist, I understand exactly what you’re experiencing. It pains me deeply to see so many people who use traditional methods continuing to struggle because they’re treating the symptoms, not the cause.

A large and growing body of research says Hypnosis is the best tool for rewiring how your subconscious mind interacts with your conscious behaviour.

This is because, during hypnosis, your subconscious mind is in a highly suggestible state. Similar to when you are fully absorbed in something, fully relaxed, and separate from any negative thoughts or feelings. (This happens naturally from time to time when you day-dream or lose focus for a moment)

David Spiegel, MD, Professor and associate chair of Psychiatry and behavioural sciences at Stanford University, said: “In fact, it’s a very powerful means of changing the way we use our minds to control perception and our bodies.”

Clinical Hypnotherapy does more

Hypnosis often works when no other treatment does: It interrupts the pattern that created the process. This allows you to create a new process, a new way to think about the problem, eliminating the anxiety.

The results can be life-changing when this is done in a clinical setting, using Hypnotherapy blended with Psychotherapy.

A safe and professional space

What this process means for your life:

The full process

Your first session is up to 90 minutes and costs $300; we can spend extra time discovering what the issues are and how we are going to help you resolve it. Subsequent sessions required may vary person to person and are an hour long and cost $250.

No two sessions are the same, as no two people are. We use hypnosis strategically based on your specific issues and situation, whatever they may be.

FAQ

Anyone that can fall asleep then wake back up can be hypnotised. There is a large misconception that you need to be in a particular "state" for hypnosis to work. That's simply untrue. There would have been times when you lost focus for a moment, even while you were reading this page. That's a trance state. While you were daydreaming, you were still in complete control. You knew where you were and what you were doing. Well, it's the same, but I add in helpful suggestions, as your conscious mind loses focus.

It varies from person to person. Only you would know how it feels like to you. If you drive a car and lose focus, it's like that. If you are talking with someone and suddenly you missed the last thing they said, it's like that. Some people who do a lot of meditation or relaxation sessions describe it like they have fallen asleep. Each person's perspective is correct for them.

Absolutely! There is a large and ever-growing body of research to support its benefits. As a Clinical Hypnotherapist, I used science-based evidence in my approach. Unfortunately, in its dramatisation on TV and stage performance over history, it has been represented as a forceful mind-control where those hypnotised are unaware of their actions. In reality, the person being hypnotised is always in complete control of the situation.

Just like a Psychologist, I am qualified as a Clinical Professional in the Health Care Industry.

✓ My professional knowledge of Anxiety is second to none. I have long term experience with how it runs, treating it, how it impacts others around you, and how it continues through generations.
✓ I am also a specialist in conversational hypnotherapy, hypnosis and mentalism at a clinical level since 2016.
✓ I am an accredited Clinical Professional member of the Australian Hypnotherapy Association and the Hypnotherapy Council of Australia. Two of the largest hypnotherapy associations in Australia
✓ I am an Australian Government Qualified Clinical Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapist. I am a Master NLP Practitioner, A Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and a Sexual and Relationship Counsellor.

We work with health insurance providers, but their acceptance of hypnotherapy as a valid method for change is questionable. Our Association gives us a health-fund provider number. However, not all health funds participate. Depending on your health fund, you may have the opportunity to get a rebate back on your session. It's important to note that this is not anything we can assist with. You must present our invoice to them after full payment for our services. More times than not, there is no cover.

Hypnosis is you making changes to how you think. When the hypnotic process begins, the changes happen in your head, not the room you are in. So hypnosis is just as effective at your place or in our clinic.

We do tend to do more sessions face to face as our clients like to be interacting in the same room. But that's a personal choice, not a results-based decision.

Yes Absolutely! Hypnosis is all about using your imagination, visualising and thinking about things differently than before. With my experience as a Conversational Hypnotherapist, I work with children as young as six years old through to adults. If you have a child or teenager with anxiety getting them help earlier in their life is one of the best gifts you can give your child as a parent.

I have had four sessions with Paul now, and it has made such a big difference in my life. My anxiety is now completely under control, and I feel like a new person. Thanks, Paul!

I had a hypnotherapy session with Paul Smith yesterday and I honestly can not recommend it/him enough. Paul instantly made me feel comfortable. He explained the process extremely well and let me know it was okay ‘not to get it’ at first. I liked the fact that the first part of the session was spent talking through the process and my reasons for being there in a state of consciousness, as I was able to fully wrap my head around the process. The last part of the session (going into a trance) was also extremely powerful. Paul recorded the session so I am able to listen to it 2-3 times per week, whenever I feel like I need to. I would recommend this to anyone looking to fix an issue in their life. Best decision I have ever made.
