How it works
Feeling anxious, nervous and stressed is part of the normal range of emotions, just like feeling angry or sad. For many children and teenagers, anxiety doesn’t last and often stabilises as the child develops and grows into a healthy adult. But for some, it doesn’t go away or is so extreme that it stops them from doing daily activities.
Events like starting a new high school or a new school year can become overwhelming for adolescents or teenagers. When day to day activities become difficult, you need to seek help.
The Norwest Wellbeing anxiety program for children and teenagers is a one-hour face to face session specifically designed for children and teenagers. We explain why they feel the way they are and why they act the way they do. Understanding our behaviours and patterns is the key to change.
It becomes easy, the long term way to think, act and behave. By using simple tools and gaining a solid understanding, your child or teenager will be confident, relaxed, and prepared to face the challenges of growing up.

During the session
The face to face session includes a strategic approach that is age-appropriate, followed by a clinical hypnotherapy session. The session begins with an informal chat so we can get to know each other a little better. We then move onto techniques and teach you and your child methods to manage and reduce anxiety and stress. We then progress to a hypnotherapy session to lock in the changes and let the child experience a completely calm and relaxed state during hypnosis.

Hi, my name is Paul, and I’m the Clinical Hypnotherapist who’ll be working with your child or teenager. I treat anxiety and self-esteem issues in children and teenagers every day. Being a father with six children and seven grandchildren, I know and understand how children experience anxiety, self-esteem issues, and body image issues, especially during their teenage years.
The most important thing is that you are helping your child manage their anxiety and stress so they can live a happy and satisfying life. As they grow into young adults, without the tools and techniques I teach in these sessions, the pressure may increase, and anxiety may become a lifelong issue for them.
