Women's health services at Norwest Wellbeing are led by Rebecca Smith. Clinical Hypnotherapist, Women's Health Specialist and Counsellor. Her specialty areas are women's health, nervous system regulation, weight and body image, fertility and pregnancy, and IBS.

What the clinic works with

Women's health concerns seen at Norwest Wellbeing include:

  • Fertility and pregnancy. Fertility support, hypnobirthing, and morning sickness/hyperemesis gravidarum
  • Menopause. Menopause symptoms and hot flashes
  • Postnatal. Postnatal depression
  • Sexual health concerns
  • Weight and body image, including emotional eating and binge eating; see hypnotherapy for weight loss
  • IBS, including gut-directed hypnotherapy, one of the better-researched applications of clinical hypnosis

Anxiety and stress commonly thread through all of these, and Rebecca's nervous-system focus addresses that layer directly. Related reading in hypnotherapy for anxiety. The full clinic-wide list is in conditions we work with.

How sessions run

Sessions combine clinical hypnotherapy with strategic psychotherapy, working with the automatic patterns (worry loops, body responses, ingrained habits) underneath the presenting concern. Your initial consultation runs up to 90 minutes ($300, including an audio recording of the trance portion); returning sessions are up to 60 minutes ($300). Sessions are in-clinic at Norwest or via Zoom Australia-wide.

For symptom areas like menopause, fertility and IBS, hypnotherapy at Norwest Wellbeing works alongside (never instead of) your medical care. No outcome is guaranteed, and your GP or specialist remains the right person for diagnosis and medical treatment.

PSYCH-K® with Rebecca

Rebecca also facilitates PSYCH-K® sessions, a belief-change process working with subconscious beliefs, booked separately at /psych-k/appointments. Some clients pair it with hypnotherapy when self-belief or body-trust beliefs sit underneath their health goal.
