What is The Home Session?
The Home Session is clinical hypnotherapy for children aged four to twelve, created from a parent intake and a short Zoom meet, then listened to in bed for $300.
Last reviewed 8 August 2026
The Home Session is how child hypnotherapy is delivered at Norwest Wellbeing. It is the same clinical process as a chair session: parent intake, clinical review, a short Zoom call to meet your child, then an individually written session listened to in their own bed. Ages four to twelve. Investment $300.

Why child sessions are at home
After years of clinic work with children, Norwest Wellbeing found the therapy room often worked against the child. Masking, people-pleasing, nerves, or a single bad appointment can close the door before the work starts. Child sessions are therefore delivered as Home Sessions by design, not as a lesser substitute.
You provide the clinical picture through the intake. The session is written around your child's world and listened to as they fall asleep, night after night, where they already feel safe.
How it works
- Secure the session online ($300). You get instant access to the clinical child intake form.
- Complete the intake in your own time (around sixty five questions covering history, behaviours, triggers, fears, and what they love). You can save and return later.
- Book a short Zoom call (ten to fifteen minutes) so your practitioner can meet your child and clarify anything the form cannot show.
- Your practitioner creates a full therapeutic profile from the intake and the call.
- An individually written session is created for your child alone (not a template), usually delivered within one to two days of the Zoom meet.
- Your child listens in bed. No clinic appointments and no car rides for the therapy itself.
The session is split into two parts of twelve to fifteen minutes each so it fits a child's attention span. Many families listen nightly at bedtime.
What is included for $300

Who it is for
The Home Session is for children aged four to twelve. Caseload experience includes ASD and ADHD, anxiety and overwhelm, anger and big reactions, friendship struggles, school refusal and school stress, trust issues with adults, abandonment fears and family upheaval, and low confidence. If ASD or ADHD is the main focus, see The Home Session for ASD and ADHD.
If your child has an NDIS plan, a behaviour therapist, or a psychologist, The Home Session is designed to work alongside that support, not instead of it.
Paul Smith and Rebecca Smith both create Home Sessions for children. Paul specialises in ASD and ADHD support, childhood anxiety, behavioural patterns, and trust and attachment. Rebecca specialises in boys and girls aged 4–12, nervous system regulation, childhood anxiety, and trust and attachment.

Common questions
Q: Can I book an in-clinic appointment for my child instead? A: Child sessions at Norwest Wellbeing are delivered as Home Sessions. The clinical process and investment match a clinic child session; the delivery is designed for how children actually respond. If you are unsure, book a free fifteen minute call.
Q: Is this only for children with ASD or ADHD? A: No. Sessions also cover anxiety, anger, friendship struggles, school stress, trust issues, and confidence. The ASD and ADHD page goes deeper when that is the main concern.
Q: How is this different from a hypnosis app? A: Apps are generic. Your child's Home Session is written after clinical review of your intake and shaped around their issues, personality, and interests. No other child receives it.
Q: My child will not sit still. Will this work? A: There is nothing to sit still for. The two short parts are listened to lying in bed as they fall asleep.
Q: Will someone actually meet my child? A: Yes. After the intake you book a short Zoom call so the practitioner can meet your child before the session is created.
Q: Will my child need more than one session? A: Start with one. Packages are not sold as a set number. After a few weeks of listening you decide together whether more is worthwhile.
Q: When will we notice changes? A: Every child is different. With nightly listening, many families report gradual shifts over the first few weeks. Hypnotherapy is a process, not a switch. No outcome is guaranteed.
