Norwest Wellbeing helps people quit vaping using clinical hypnotherapy combined with strategic psychotherapy. Quit vaping is treated as its own concern at standard session fees ($300 for an initial consultation of up to 90 minutes, $300 for returning sessions) bookable at /appointments.
Why vaping is its own problem
Vaping builds a habit loop that's in some ways stickier than cigarettes. There's no smell forcing you outside, no natural end-point like finishing a cigarette, and the device is always within reach, so puffing weaves itself into almost every moment of the day: working, driving, scrolling, falling asleep. The result is a near-continuous automatic pattern rather than discrete smoking occasions.
That's exactly the kind of pattern hypnotherapy targets. The habit runs below conscious decision-making, which is why knowing you should stop hasn't been enough. In session, your practitioner maps your specific triggers, then uses hypnosis to build new automatic responses in those moments. Reaching for the vape less, until the pull loses its grip. Related work on nicotine habits is covered in quit smoking hypnotherapy; hypnotherapy has clinical research support for smoking cessation, and the same habit-focused approach underpins vaping work.
How sessions run
Your initial consultation is up to 90 minutes with Paul Smith (whose specialties include habit cessation) or Rebecca Smith. It includes conversation to map your vaping pattern, hypnosis targeting it, and an audio recording of the trance portion to reinforce the work between sessions. Sessions are in-clinic at Norwest or via Zoom Australia-wide.
Teen vaping is a common concern for parents. Teens aged 13–18 can be seen with a parent or guardian booking on their behalf (required under 16); the booking flow applies the age-appropriate practitioner and intake form automatically.
What to expect honestly
Quitting vaping through hypnotherapy is collaborative work, and no outcome is guaranteed. Your intake form, honesty about your pattern, and follow-through between sessions all shape the result. If you want to talk it through before booking, request a free 15-minute callback via /appointments or phone (02) 8069 9777. The full list of related habit work is in conditions we work with.
