Zoom setup checklist for your online session

Set up for your online hypnotherapy session with a quiet private room, a device with camera and microphone, stable internet, headphones and a comfortable chair, then join via the link in your confirmation email.

Last reviewed 8 August 2026

This checklist gets your space and equipment ready so your Zoom session runs smoothly from the first minute. Five minutes of preparation is all it takes.

Prerequisites

  • A confirmed Zoom booking: your join link is in your booking confirmation email
  • A device with a camera and microphone (computer, tablet or phone)

Setup steps

  1. Choose a quiet, private room. Pick a space where you won't be interrupted or overheard for the length of your session. Up to 90 minutes for an initial consultation. Let others in the house know not to disturb you.
  2. Set up a comfortable chair or recliner. You will spend part of the session sitting back with your eyes closed, so choose something that supports you comfortably.
  3. Check your device. Confirm the camera and microphone work and the device is charged or plugged in.
  4. Check your internet connection. A stable connection matters more than a fast one. If your Wi-Fi is patchy, sit closer to the router before the session.
  5. Put on headphones (recommended). Headphones make your practitioner's voice clearer and keep the session private.
  6. Find your join link. Open your booking confirmation email and locate the Zoom link. At your appointment time, click the link and your practitioner will meet you in the session.

Complete your intake form before the session if you haven't already. See complete your intake form.

Troubleshooting

If you can't find your confirmation email, check your spam folder first. Still stuck, or having trouble with the link itself? Email hello@norwestwellbeing.com.au or phone (02) 8069 9777 and we'll sort it out before your appointment.
