What is Bed Wetting?

Bed wetting (nocturnal enuresis) is repeated urination during sleep in a child who is past the age when most peers stay dry. It is common, often hereditary, and usually not a sign that the child is lazy or oppositional.

A GP should rule out medical causes (urine infection, constipation, diabetes, and others) before you assume it is "just a habit." Clinical hypnotherapy can then support the automatic night-time control pattern.

Money page: bed wetting (enuresis). Hub: /parenting. Treatment: bed wetting hypnotherapy.

When to see a GP first

  • Wetting that starts after a long dry period
  • Daytime wetting, pain, or thirst
  • Constipation or stool holding (see stool holding)
  • Distress, bullying, or sleepovers becoming impossible

Hypnotherapy's role

Hypnotherapy is complementary. It does not replace medical review or bedwetting alarms when those are indicated. Paul Smith leads paediatric hypnotherapy. Parent or guardian books. See child sessions.

Australian search demand for hypnotherapy / hypnosis for bed wetting is established in ads. Target the hypnotherapy money page, not a product URL, as the primary result.
