What is breastfeeding anxiety?

Breastfeeding anxiety is persistent worry, panic, or dread around feeding: whether the baby has had enough, whether supply will fail, or whether you are feeding properly. Clinical hypnotherapy can help with that anxiety. It is not lactation medical advice and we do not diagnose or treat low supply, latch, or mastitis.

What hypnotherapy targets

Panic or dread before or during feeds; catastrophic thoughts about supply or harm; body tension that makes feeding harder; shame and comparison. If mood or panic is wider than feeding, see postnatal anxiety or postnatal depression.

Boundaries

See your GP, midwife, or a lactation consultant for feeding physiology. Medication while breastfeeding stays with your doctor. Rebecca Smith leads this hypnotherapy work.

Treatment and fees

Initial $300 (up to 90 minutes). Returning $300 (up to 60 minutes). Norwest or Zoom Australia-wide.
